As part of Fernando Mastrangelo’s fascination with all things glacial, the rounds of pollution that in infiltrate the ice over decades create a natural layering reminiscent of his earlier works. This design is expertly tufted by skilled artisans.
Fernando Mastrangelo is a Brooklyn-based contemporary artist best known for his sculptures, furniture and large-scale wall works by using typically commonplace materials such as salt, coffee, sand, glass and cement. He has always been inspired by his surroundings – the people, the places, and the politics. His works are intriguingly contradictory; both rugged and refined, durable and delicate, formal and functional.

Due to dye lot variations, precise matches between colors of chosen samples and those in final product cannot be guaranteed. Shading (or watermarking) is the result of pile reversal where areas of the carpet may appear to have changed colors. This is a feature of fine carpets; it is not a manufacturing fault nor does this affect performance or durability.
