DUYIYAO

Shuchang Liu, founder of DUYIYAO, is a ceramist based in Jingdezhen, China. Since the beginning of his practice, he has devoted himself to the study of the history and culture of Jingdezhen’s traditional high-temperature colored glaze ceramics and to the research on the city’s original glazed clay. He combines the ancient techniques of ceramic making with innovation, paying attention to the details of the outlines and the supple texture of the glaze on every object. The result is an iconic and unique interpretation of the Chinese ‘Lang’ red ceramic teaware which is bright, delicate, and translucent.

Shuchang Liu has received a number of awards for his designs, including the Gold and Bronze Awards at the Shenzhen Global Tea Fair in 2021 and 2020 respectively.
